Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to lead the design, planning, and execution of heavy civil and utility infrastructure for Starlink facility projects in Bastrop, TX. You will work with PMs, designers, vendors, and internal customers to deliver complex projects from concept to completion at a world-class manufacturing campus.

The role requires hands-on field oversight, multi-discipline coordination, and close collaboration to ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
• 8+ years of civil engineering design, analysis, and drafting experience.
• Preferred 12+ years of experience; EIT or PE license.
• Experience with design software packages listed (StormCAD, HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS, WaterCAD, PCSWMM) and AutoCAD Civil3D.

Responsibilities

• Develop and issue drawings and design documentation for industrial and land development projects.
• Perform calculations for grading, drainage, stormwater facilities, and underground utilities.
• Coordinate with permits authorities at local, state, and federal levels.
• Manage civil aspects in the field: quality control, conflict resolution, and multi-discipline coordination.
• Interact with contractors and internal clients to develop project requirements, schedules, and cost estimates.
• Resolve design and construction conflicts in real time.
