Job summary

Xcel Energy in Denver is seeking a Principal Business Functional Consultant to partner with Customer Core to drive enterprise transformation. You will bring deep SME in non-technical operations, translate current-state processes into future state capabilities, and enable change through collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

You’ll influence senior leaders, guide cross-functional teams, and help define governance, metrics, and post-implementation value realization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field is required or an equivalent combination of training and relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of utility processes and performance drivers.
• Excellent communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• 7+ years in operations, business process improvement or service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic advisor for functional teams with deep SME knowledge and high-impact process recommendations.
• Represent functional operations in major program activities, shaping process design and governance.
• Identify broad operational impacts of changes and address enterprise-level risks and misalignments.
• Lead development of enterprise performance metrics, reporting frameworks and post-implementation value realization measures.
