Job Description

We are excited about the opportunity for a strategic thinker and expert problem solver to join our team as a Principal Business Analyst! In this critical role, you will leverage your specialized expertise to provide consultative support that drives insights and a strategic perspective within our organization. You will conduct and assist Business Architects in areas such as claims, distribution, product, service, data, and the Frontier program. Your contributions will support our Business Architects by assessing current capabilities, aligning them with business processes and customer journeys, and deepening our understanding of the insurance lifecycle.

You will perform thorough research and analysis, presenting your findings clearly to recommend impactful changes and solutions that improve business outcomes. With minimal supervision, you will handle complex tasks, ensuring our operations are efficient and innovative. This role offers a unique chance to influence strategic decisions and enhance our operational framework through close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

At least 75% of your time will involve the following responsibilities:

1. Applying advanced research and analysis to business process changes, integrating process improvement and business operations expertise to solve complex problems.
2. Conducting analyses based on operational, economic, and financial data to evaluate performance, operational changes, and design new strategies at a strategic level.
3. Using descriptive analytics and data visualization tools to identify trends, patterns, gaps, and insights.
4. Building business cases for changes to practices, programs, or procedures, including assessments of current state, opportunities, costs/benefits, and feasibility.
5. Partnering with Business Architects and stakeholders to evaluate and improve business capabilities, especially for large-scale strategic changes.
6. Developing and analyzing complex metrics related to operational performance, staffing, and productivity.
7. Assisting with tooling needs for Business Architects and evaluating options.
8. Developing content strategies and structures for business architecture artifacts.
9. Creating and distributing management reports and dashboards to monitor business outcomes, and preparing presentations with findings and recommendations.
10. Responding to complex data inquiries by applying knowledge of data and business operations from various sources.
11. Providing mentorship to less experienced staff.

• Advanced knowledge of business operations, including value chain and market conditions.
• Excellent influencing, relationship management, and presentation skills.
• Ability to support organizational change and demonstrate value.
• Strong project management skills for implementing business process changes.
• Advanced knowledge of data sources, strengths, and limitations.
• Proficiency in Excel, database software, and business intelligence tools.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 6+ years in business analysis; advanced degree preferred.
