Qualifications

Overview

How you can make a difference

The Principal Business Analyst for Reimbursement Accounts is responsible for gathering business information and transforming it into actionable decisions for the product team. This role interprets information to be translated into detailed business requirements or used for process improvements. The Principal Business Analyst will report to GM, Reimbursement Accounts. This is a remote, direct-hire position within HealthEquity.

What you'll be doing

  • Work closely with business stakeholders, engineering, and data information services to analyze complex problems, system behavior, and potential software bugs.
  • Assess the impact of bugs, perform gap and root cause analysis as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Product Owners to define and deliver new or enhanced product features.
  • Meet with stakeholders to elicit requirements and document processes.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives in process engineering and quality.
  • Serve as a system behavior expert, providing insights on change impacts and recurring issues.
  • Assist in developing and executing test plans.
  • Support the entire software development lifecycle.
  • Document product capabilities and serve as a subject matter expert.
  • Develop product recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Keep team members informed of items affecting their duties.
  • Participate in SCRUM meetings and help resolve team blockers.

What you will need to be successful

  • Knowledge of software product creation or related fields, typically obtained through a High School Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in mathematics, statistics, finance, accounting, economics, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in business requirements analysis, including data searching, flow modeling, stakeholder knowledge extraction, SQL, and process flow. Formal writing experience is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, Aha, Azure DevOps, and knowledge of agile and SAFE methodologies.
  • Excellent technical skills, service orientation, and strong people skills.
  • Ability to identify risks and opportunities, and contribute to solutions.
  • Adaptability, analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of healthcare financial accounts and insurance systems is desirable.
  • Experience in gathering/documenting requirements and creating/executing UAT plans.
  • Strong communication skills, organization, and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business demands.

This is a remote position.

Salary Range

$104,500.00 to $167,500.00 per year
