Job summary

Amazon's CXP data organization is seeking a Principal BI Engineer to shape how data drives customer insights and service at scale. You will architect data systems, govern data as a product, and guide cross-functional teams across science, product, and engineering.

Lead the data foundation for personalized support, ensure metric integrity, and design integration patterns that connect BI with GenAI and ML-powered automation. This role reports to senior leadership and mentors a team of BIEs.

Qualifications

10+ years of BI and analytics experience.
Experience building analytic or scientific data products or solutions.
Experience defining measures and metrics and developing reporting solutions.
Experience coding in Python, R, MATLAB, or STATA.

Responsibilities

Define the customer and map the journey across channels (chat, voice, etc.).
Build data models and analytical frameworks for a unified customer view.
Own the data foundation for personalized support and interaction histories.
Architect the analytics data ecosystem, including data quality monitoring.
Operationalize data as a product with ownership, SLAs, and governance.
Drive metric integrity by standard definitions and data source reconciliation.
Lead cross-functional alignment with Science, Product, and Engineering teams.
Make high-stakes technical decisions on modeling trade-offs and cost/performance.
Mentor BIEs and communicate strategy to executives.
