Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Senior Principal Backend Engineer for the Cortex group to lead backend development for Cortex XSOAR, XDR and XSIAM. Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
14+ years of professional software engineering experience in distributed, cloud-native development.
Expert-level programming in Python, Go, or Java with large-scale distributed systems experience.
Extensive cloud development experience including REST APIs, databases, and microservices.

Responsibilities

Serve as an acknowledged technical leader, guiding cross‑functional engineering teams.
Drive full project lifecycles from requirements to design and implementation.
Align work with product management, UX design, and engineering stakeholders.
Design, build, and optimize scalable data models and APIs using Python, Flask, Go.
