Job summary

LifeStance Health is seeking an experienced Principal Analytics Engineer to provide technical leadership for Enterprise Analytics. You will design high-quality data models and analytics products spanning patient demand, engagement, scheduling, KPIs, and major transformations.

You’ll stay hands-on with SQL, data modeling, testing, and documentation while mentoring analysts and promoting analytics engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics, or related field with relevant experience.
• 10+ years of experience using advanced SQL to build production-grade data transformations and analytics datasets.
• 8+ years designing flexible analytics and data models in healthcare environments.
• 6+ years operating independently in senior/lead roles.
• Experience leading analytics engineering architecture and standards across multi-data-source environments.
• Expert-level skills in analytics data model design with dbt.
• Experience driving adoption of analytics engineering practices and mentoring.
• Healthcare or regulated industry experience with data privacy and governance knowledge.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain SQL-based data transformations from EHR and enterprise systems.
• Lead design of reusable enterprise data models and semantic layers for KPI reporting.
• Establish foundations for analytics engineering adoption including standards and testing practices.
• Develop datasets for enterprise dashboards and analytics products in Power BI or similar tools.
• Collaborate with business leaders and analysts to translate questions into metric definitions and data products.
• Advise teams on model design, governance, data quality, and performance.
• Mentor analysts in SQL, dimensional modeling, version-controlled development, and governance.
• Lead troubleshooting for data quality and metric-consistency issues and implement durable controls.
• Align enterprise models with target architecture, privacy and security requirements.
