Job summary
ASD is seeking a Principal Airworthiness Engineer to join our team in San Diego, onsite at Spectrum Center in Kearney Mesa, CA. You will support certification efforts across air vehicle platforms, translating customer requirements into certification criteria and delivering solutions that meet program needs throughout the lifecycle.
The role requires leadership of airworthiness plans, bases of certification, and related activities, with extensive collaboration across engineering disciplines and
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM field with related experience
- Experience leading airworthiness plans, basis of certification and related activities
- Experience with UAS/RPAS airworthiness authorizations and type certifications
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance within a reasonable time
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and drive processes
Responsibilities
- Perform airworthiness planning and verification, including development of plans and means of compliance for complex systems
- Coordinate with airworthiness engineers and other disciplines across design, fabrication, test, installation, operation and maintenance
- Translate customer requirements into criteria and derived requirements for continued certification throughout the lifecycle
- Manage Type Design Data and airworthiness evidence for Military Type Certification and ongoing airworthiness
