Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Sr. Principal Airworthiness Engineer to join our Rancho Bernardo, CA team. You will lead airworthiness planning, basis of certification, and related activities for complex platforms across the program lifecycle.

The role requires active US government Secret clearance, and includes certification for UAS/RPAS programs with DoD and international interfaces. Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

Develop and negotiate airworthiness plans, bases of certification, and related activities.
Lead certification efforts across complex total systems with IPT/REs and customers.
Coordinate with design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal teams.
Maintain Type Design Data and airworthiness evidence for DoD/US DoD programs.

Responsibilities

Performs airworthiness planning and verification activities for complex systems.
Reviews and coordinates with internal engineers across product lifecycle.
Translates customer requirements into criteria and derived requirements.
Ensure certification objectives are met throughout the product lifecycle (flight releases, type certification, continued airworthiness).
