Job summary

Amazon Science is seeking a Principal Applied Scientist to architect and lead the science strategy for Prime personalization. You will define the frontier of Gen AI, build evolving models of customer intent, and drive breakthroughs across a large cross-cutting organization.

You will partner with product owners, shape the roadmap, and deliver scalable AI/ML solutions that optimize long-term Prime value across billions of decisions daily.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on work in predictive modeling and analysis experience
• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Experience distilling informal customer requirements into problem definitions, dealing with ambiguity and competing objectives

Responsibilities

• Define the science vision and architecture for a large cross-cutting organization.
• Drive breakthroughs in Gen AI/LLM-based foundation models.
• Collaborate with product owners to roadmap team execution and deliverables.
