Job summary

Sapience AI is seeking a Principal AI Systems Architect to own coherence across the MINERVA and COGENT platforms, guiding system-wide architecture from models to serving. You will shape cross-cutting direction and ensure scalable, trustworthy design while working hands-on with teams across the stack.

You will mentor engineers, set standards, evaluate frontier AI advances, and partner with security and governance to keep the platform durable as Sapience AI grows.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a senior or principal engineer or architect on complex production systems.
• Deep experience architecting AI or ML platforms end to end.
• A track record of architecture that scaled with a growing product and team.
• Strong systems, distributed systems, and data fundamentals.
• Sound judgment on security, reliability, and trust at the architecture level.
• The ability to lead through influence across many teams.
• Hands-on credibility that senior engineers respect.

Responsibilities

• Own seven areas of responsibility across the platform architecture and set direction.
• Set cross-cutting architecture and manage seams between subsystems.
• Make architecture-level decisions that shape platform for years.
• Lead cross-team technical questions and multiply team impact.
• Evaluate frontier advances and decide how they fit the architecture.
• Mentor senior engineers and raise technical judgment across the org.
