Job summary

Verizon seeks a Principal Architect for Enterprise AI Platform to provide technical leadership across a 5-layer architecture, ensuring coherence, ADRs, ARB submissions, and multi-year TCO models. You will drive design excellence, vendor and cloud strategy, and Governance for secure, scalable AI systems.

Responsibilities include defining interface contracts, API conventions, security patterns, and aiding executive stakeholders with architecture recommendations in a rapidly evolving AI landscape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of work experience.
• Six+ years of relevant experience in software/platform architecture.
• Experience designing AI/ML systems and ADRs.
• Proven ADRs and reference architectures.
• Experience with distributed systems and API gateways.
• Experience in multi-cloud environments (GCP/AWS).
• Experience presenting to VP/SVP leadership.

Responsibilities

• Direct the 5-layer architecture stack with defined boundaries and contracts.
• Establish and govern architectural standards including API conventions and security patterns.
• Lead build-vs-buy analyses and 3-year TCO models for platform components.
• Architect security and governance frameworks including RAI guardrails.
• Engage stakeholders and evangelize patterns with executive leadership.
