Job summary

Capital One is hiring for an AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI systems that power real-time, personalized banking experiences. You will work with engineers, researchers, PMs, and data teams to deliver scalable AI components and models, ensuring responsible governance and observability across platforms.

We seek experts in ML frameworks and large-scale inference, with a strong background in Python and modern AI tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree with 2+ years (Master's) / 4+ years (Bachelor's) in AI/ML
• 4+ years of experience programming with Python, Go, Scala, CUDA or Java
• Experience leading AI systems with tradeoffs around cost, latency, throughput and accuracy

Responsibilities

• Deliver AI-powered products with cross-functional teams
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components
• Optimize model training, inference, and governance pipelines
• Define and maintain SLAs for AI reliability including latency and uptime
• Collaborate with infrastructure to optimize GPU/TPU utilization
• Mentor junior engineers on scalable design and production translation
