Job summary

Mitratech is seeking a Principal AI Engineer to guide a distributed team in building scalable, AI-enabled software solutions. You will oversee architecture, design, and AI strategy while mentoring engineers across the globe and refining AI tooling usage to accelerate delivery.

Qualifications

• Ten+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on design and architectural leadership.
• Two+ years of experience with AI/ML models in production environments.
• Strong background in backend or full-stack technologies (Python).
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Devin AI, GitHub Copilot or GPT APIs.
• Strong system design skills focused on RAG/Agentic systems and task decomposition.
• Proven experience leading distributed engineering teams.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Exposure to AI agent frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGPT, AgentCore).
• Experience with domain-driven design (DDD) or MCPs/micro-services architecture.
• Experience with vector/graph databases, embeddings, or similar LLM infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for design, development, and deployment of AI-enabled software solutions.
• Architect scalable, modular systems and communicate decisions across services and domains.
• Develop and refine prompt strategies to guide AI agents in coding, documentation, and tests.
• Mentor globally distributed developers and promote AI tool adoption and clean coding practices.
• Collaborate on CI/CD improvements with AI-enhanced review and testing steps.
