Mitratech is seeking a Principal Engineer to set technical direction across a major product domain, partnering with global teams to deliver scalable software in a fast-evolving AI-augmented environment.

You will influence the technical roadmap, elevate engineering craft, and shape how AI tooling and agents contribute to codebases while ensuring security and quality across platforms. This role is remote within the US and offers a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience with AI/agentic development in production
• Strong cross-team collaboration and communication

Responsibilities

• Drive technical direction for a significant product domain or platform capability.
• Lead architectural debt remediation to improve reliability.
• Assess multi-quarter roadmap feasibility with technical guidance.
• Elevate engineering craft through RFCs and mentorship.
• Collaborate with cross-country teams to deliver scalable software.
• Define processes for reviewing AI-generated code and agent contributions.
• Own cookbook and knowledge-base standards for engineers and AI agents.
• Evaluate agentic development tools balancing velocity, cost, security, and quality
