Mitratech is seeking a Principal AI Engineer to lead a distributed team in building scalable, AI-integrated software solutions. You will oversee architecture, AI strategy, and code reviews, while mentoring engineers across the globe. Qualifications

10+ years of software engineering leadership experience.
2+ years of production AI/ML experience.
Strong backend or full-stack background (Python).
Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Devin AI, GitHub Copilot, GPT APIs).
Strong system design and task decomposition skills (RAG/Agentic systems).
Proven track record leading distributed engineering teams.
Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for design, development and deployment of AI-enabled software.
Architect scalable, modular systems and communicate decisions across services and domains.
Lead Agentic AI integration, build MCPs/APIs and AI Agents, refine prompt strategies.
Translate product goals into actionable engineering tasks; review code (human and AI).
Mentor globally distributed developers and foster a learning culture around AI tooling.
Improve build/deploy pipelines by integrating AI-enhanced review and testing steps.
