Job summary

Transamerica is seeking an experienced Associate Principal AI Engineer to join its Core AI team, advancing the AI platform, services, and adoption across the organization. The role focuses on production-grade Gen AI and agentic AI solutions (AWS AgentCore) within a hybrid environment, collaborating with diverse stakeholders and leading initiatives under guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, AI, Data Science, or related field.
• 10+ years related experience with at least 3 years of demonstrable experience in end-to-end AI solution design.
• Professional certifications in AI and/or cloud technologies.
• Strong proficiency in Python for production ready delivery.
• Deep understanding of Gen AI landscape and agentic frameworks (incl. Strands SDK, LangChain, A2A, MCP).
• Experience in full model lifecycle – planning, training, deploying and maintaining AI systems.
• Good knowledge of AWS AI Infrastructure and AI services.
• Proficiency in containerization and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes and Docker.

Responsibilities

• Contribute enhancements to AWS Launchpad platform and related services.
• Support Launchpad onboarding of internal development teams.
• Apply Python skills to build production-grade Gen AI and Agentic AI solutions (AWS AgentCore).
• Lead AI development teams under supervision in delivery of business transformation initiatives.
• Select AI services to solve business problems using AWS AI knowledge.
• Contribute to evolution of AI governance and operational processes.
