Job summary

Capital One's Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team seeks a Lead AI Engineer to advance Gen AI platform services, including agentic AI, guardrails, evaluation and memory. The role partners with engineers, researchers and PMs to build AI-powered products that impact associates and customers.

You will work with AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails and PyTorch, pushing state-of-the-art techniques to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with ≥4 years in AI/ML or Master’s with ≥2 years.
• 4+ years programming in Python, Go, Scala or Java.
• Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms preferred.
• Experience designing AI services and optimizing training/inference.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI tech like PyTorch and Huggingface.
• Invent optimization techniques to improve performance, latency, and cost.
• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term AI roadmap.
