Job summary

Micron Technology is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to define architecture and standards for frontend manufacturing applications, leading AI-assisted engineering initiatives to improve efficiency and reliability.

You will mentor engineers, shape technical direction, and drive platform modernization across multiple teams while collaborating with manufacturing, product, and engineering functions in Boise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience delivering and supporting enterprise-scale production applications.
• 5+ years of experience designing system architecture across multiple apps/services/teams.
• Demonstrated expertise in Angular or similar modern web frameworks, TypeScript, and web app architecture.
• Strong hands-on development with .NET/C# and proficiency in Python, C++, or Perl.
• Proven experience applying AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding in production software environments.
• Proven success influencing technical direction, improving standards, mentoring senior engineers.
• Strong written and verbal communication to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work onsite in Boise, Idaho five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and technical strategy for frontend manufacturing applications and platform modernization initiatives.
• Design, develop, and support production applications using .NET, C#, Angular, Python, and related platforms.
• Establish and govern engineering standards, code reviews, and quality controls, including AI-assisted software development standards.
• Evaluate, implement, and operationalize AI development tools and agentic workflows across multiple teams.
• Mentor senior engineers, lead technical design reviews, and influence engineering direction across cross-functional teams.
