Job summary

Micron Technology in Boise, ID is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design, build, test and support software across the development lifecycle, including automation and manufacturing systems. You will work with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality software that creates business value while minimizing downtime.

Responsibilities include coordinating automation improvements, gathering requirements for global fabs, testing releases, and providing on‑call support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of enterprise software development experience.
• Hands-on experience with object-oriented programming and SDLC practices.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and AI tools.
• Software testing experience in manufacturing or automation environments.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate tool automation and host enhancements by partnering with automation developers and domain experts to deliver projects on schedule
• Gather, prioritize, and document requirements for new automation systems and enhancements across 300mm fabs globally
• Test and support manufacturing and automation software releases, including upgrades and resiliency improvements
• Fix and resolve automation and software issues in a daily support role, including 24x7 on-call rotation
• Maintain user documentation and provide regular project status reporting to management
