Job summary

AssistRx, Inc. is seeking a senior AI Engineer to lead enterprise-scale AI strategy and production-grade solutions across the specialty medication access ecosystem. You will own the architecture, evaluation standards, and responsible AI practices, guiding colleagues across engineering, product, data, and security teams.

You will shape multi-year AI roadmaps, mentor staff, and ensure safe, compliant use of AI with PHI while driving cost efficiency and performance at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 6+ years building AI/ML in production.
• Track record delivering enterprise-scale AI solutions with measurable outcomes.
• Expert programming skills in Python and experience with Java/.NET/C# for back-end services.
• Deep expertise with large language models, retrieval augmentation, embeddings, prompts.
• Experience with cloud AI platforms (AWS Bedrock/SageMaker or Azure equivalents).
• Strong written and verbal communication to influence executives, clients, and engineers.
• Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Copilot agents, Codex).
• Knowledge of healthcare privacy, security, HIPAA/HITRUST, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Define the multi-year AI technical strategy and enterprise roadmap.
• Lead design of complex AI/ML solutions across platforms and clients.
• Architect LLM applications with retrieval, prompts, and agent orchestration.
• Set standards for design docs, evaluation, and guardrails for safety.
• Own AI platform reference architecture, model access, and deployment patterns.
• Mentor engineers, influence across the organization, and partner with product.
• Ensure cost-efficiency, performance, and compliant use of AI with PHI.
