TogetherWork is seeking a Principal Architect, AI & Developer Productivity in Austin, TX to own how AI accelerates the software development lifecycle across the portfolio. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring shipping AI-augmented tooling at scale with measurable gains in throughput, quality, and cycle time.

You will define and operate the AI-assisted development stack, set standards, drive adoption, and measure outcomes against DORA metrics while balancing cost, security, and IP

Qualifications

• 10+ years of proven expertise defining end-to-end solution architecture with hands-on shipping responsibility.
• Production deployment of AI-assisted development tooling across multiple teams with measurable outcomes.
• Strong experience with modern CI/CD platforms (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, Jenkins, Buildkite).
• Hands-on use of multiple AI coding tools at organizational scale.

Responsabilités

• Define and operationalize the AI-assisted engineering platform across the portfolio.
• Architect a vendor-agnostic abstraction layer for evolving AI tooling.
• Establish reference architectures and golden paths for AI-augmented workflows.
• Define use, IP protection, secret scanning, and data exfiltration controls for AI in SDLC.
• Implement open source license scanning to avoid GPL/AGPL contamination.
• Define audit trails for code, tests, reviews, and approvals.
• Embed regulatory requirements (SOC 2, PCI, PII, SOX, data residency) into the platform.
• Embed AI capabilities into CI/CD for PR review, test synthesis, vulnerability remediation, and rollout.
• Establish quality gates for AI-generated code (coverage, mutation testing, security, license).
• Lead developer enablement, roadmaps, and internal developer portal initiatives.
• Treat developer experience as a product with measurable adoption and outcomes.
