Job summary

MITRE is seeking a Principal 5G/nextG Cybersecurity Architect to integrate AI capabilities and advance secure next-generation communications for Federal sponsors. You will lead architectural design, standards development, and cybersecurity engineering across enterprise 5G/nextG initiatives.

You'll apply deep expertise in 3GPP/ENISA/GSMA standards, zero trust, threat-informed security, and AI/ML integration to deliver secure, resilient telecom architectures for government missions.

Qualifications

• Typically requires 10+ years with a bachelor's, 8+ with a master's, or 5+ with a PhD.
• Advanced ability to architect secure enterprise solutions and apply zero trust.
• Experience with 3GPP, ENISA and GSMA 5G/nextG standards and security.
• Experience in 5G/nextG telecommunications and wireless network architecture.
• Active Top Secret clearance and eligibility for Top Secret/SCI; on-site requirement.

Responsibilities

• Develop secure 5G/nextG architectures and reference designs for government customers.
• Lead enterprise 5G/nextG cybersecurity strategy, roadmaps, and governance.
• Plan and execute 5G cybersecurity architecture and research in USG programs.
• Apply AI/ML, automation, and zero trust to secure next-generation systems.
• Translate 3GPP/nextG standards into architecture decisions and security requirements.
