Job summary

McKinstry Essention, LLC is seeking a Project Engineer - Prime MEP in Chicago, IL to support project management, documentation, procurement, and coordination with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams. The role involves preparing submittals, RFIs, and project plans, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with contracts and drawings.

You will coordinate with architects, engineers and owners, manage field activities, assist in monthly financial reporting, and uphold McKinstry safety

Qualifications

Experience in construction project coordination and documentation.
Ability to read and interpret plans, contracts and specifications.
Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, and closeout processes.

Responsibilities

Support project management through documentation, procurement, and coordination with clients, subcontractors, vendors and internal teams.
Coordinate equipment and materials procurement and subcontractor scope of work.
Prepare monthly financial reporting and maintain project files.
Communicate with architects, engineers, owners and other stakeholders to assist the Project Manager.
Coordinate safety plans with the Safety Team and ensure site safety compliance.
