The Primary Therapist provides clinical services, including individual and group therapy, to patients in Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP). This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health and substance abuse disorders, working within a multidisciplinary team to support patients' treatment plans and recovery goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing therapy for individuals and groups.
• Facilitate evidence-based therapeutic interventions, focusing on addressing mental health and substance abuse challenges.
• Collaborate with case managers, psychiatrists, and other team members to deliver integrated care and monitor patient progress.
• Document patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with regulatory and facility standards.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed, working to de-escalate situations and support patient safety.
• Engage families in the therapeutic process, providing guidance and support to help them understand and assist in the patient’s recovery.
• Participate in regular team meetings, contributing to treatment planning and care coordination.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest treatment modalities and techniques for mental health and substance abuse treatment.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably with mental health and substance abuse clients.
• Proficiency in therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of EMR systems and regulatory requirements for PHP and IOP settings.
