Amcor in Asheville, NC is hiring a Primary Technician to support the Primary Department, stock adhesives, and manage Hazardous Waste duties. The night shift runs Monday–Thursday, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m., with a $20.75+/hour base pay plus a $1.00/hour night shift premium.
Responsibilities include operating hoists and forklifts, reading specs, documenting traceability, maintaining a clean safe area, and assisting with machine set-ups while following EHS and QA systems.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience in warehouse environment.
- Forklift experienced required.

- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation to ensure traceability.
- Always maintains a clean and safe working area.
- Completes required paperwork, including housekeeping checklist, batch tickets, etc.
- Assist with machine set ups and ensures compliance with job specifications.
- Work proactively; ensuring that the work area is supplied properly for the next operation.
- Adhere to Environmental, Health, and Safety policies and regulations.
- Handle Hazardous Waste drums on the production floor, staging, and transport to the Hazardous Waste Cage.
- Provide communication daily with management, maintenance, operators, etc.

The Primary Tech supports and assists in the operations of the Primary Dept. The position includes advance preparation adhesives, tooling, and other needs to keep the machines stocked. This position also has Hazardous Waste duties as noted below.
The Primary Technician supports and assists the operations of the Primary Department. Primary Technician appropriately understands and follows the plant’s EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) and Quality systems to maintain a safe workplace and ensure quality product.
Shift: NIGHTS Monday – Thursday, 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

What you’ll do:
- Operate lifting equipment (i.e. hoists and forklifts).
- Responsible for reading & interpreting specifications and manufacturing instructions.
- Responsible for thorough and accurate documentation to maintain traceability.
- Always maintains a clean and safe working area.
- Completes required paperwork, including housekeeping checklist, miscellaneous inspections, batch tickets, etc.
- Assists with machine set ups and ensures compliance with job specifications.
- Works proactively; assuring that the work area is supplied properly for the next operation.
- Understands, adheres to and reinforces Environmental, Health, and Safety policies and regulations.
- Responsible for the proper handling and labeling of Hazardous Waste drums on the production floor, staging, and transport to the Hazardous Waste Cage.
- Anticipates and reacts productively to changes and handles other tasks as assigned.
- Seeks and implements improvement activities through teamwork and participation in the Continuous Improvement process.
- Understands and complies with grounding and bonding procedures.
- Follows all safety rules and proper chemical handling processes.
- Assists in training other personnel.
- Provides communication daily with management, maintenance, operators, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- 1+ years of experience in warehouse environment
- Forklift experienced required
