Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Machine Tender/Packer to safely operate winders, glue machines, and folder/stackers, while packaging finished goods and performing quality checks. The role includes following safety rules, maintaining a clean workspace, and verifying pallet patterns to ensure top-quality presentation of products.

The position requires basic computer familiarity, willingness to work overtime, and the ability to collaborate across shifts in a fast-paced manufacturing setting in Texas.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Experience: 1-year manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of computers is desired.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work overtime, extended shifts, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance.
  • Performs duties in a safe manner and reports safety hazards.
  • Acts as a role model for Safety on shift.
  • Participates in Safety by reporting Unsafe Conditions and Close Calls.
  • Ensures a quality product through regular quality checks by reading line orders and spec sheets.
  • Conducts regular product quality checks as required.
  • Reports any out of spec products to the Senior Operator immediately.
  • Follows processes and procedures regarding product quality.
  • Fills out quality check sheets accurately and completely.
  • Packages finished goods with correct labeling, packaging and pallet patterns.
  • Verifies and executes pallet patterns.
  • Maintains a neat, orderly work area and supports housekeeping standards.
  • May be assigned additional housekeeping responsibilities.

Machine Tender/Packer

Purpose: Responsible for the safe operation of winders, glue machines, and folder/stackers; packaging finished goods, making quality checks and handling scrap product. Assists with scrap reduction, housekeeping, and maintaining quality standards; observes all safety rules and conducts assigned duties in a safe manner.

Responsibilities
  • Follows all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance.
  • Performs duties in a safe manner and reports all observed safety hazards to the Senior Operator, Production Supervisor, Team Lead or Safety Manager.
  • Acts as a role model for Safety on shift.
  • Participates in Safety by reporting Unsafe Conditions, Unsafe Acts and Close Calls; makes entries into the Global Data Center (GDC).
  • Ensures a quality product through regular quality checks by reading and verifying line orders and spec sheets.
  • Conducts regular product quality checks as required.
  • Reports any out of spec products to the Senior Operator immediately.
  • Follows all processes and procedures regarding product quality.
  • Accurately and completely fills out quality check sheets to ensure consistent product checks.
  • Properly packages finished goods to include correct use of labels, chips, sleeves, twist ties, pallet patterns and code stamps.
  • Responsible for proper packaging of all finished goods to achieve the best cosmetic presentation possible.
  • Responsible for verifying and executing pallet patterns.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area; meets plant and department housekeeping standards.
  • May be assigned additional housekeeping responsibilities throughout the plant as needed to maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
Qualifications
  • Education: Knowledge normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
  • Experience: In addition to the educational requirements 1-year previous manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of computers is desired.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work overtime, extended shifts, weekends, and/or holidays as scheduled.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.
