Job summary

Amcor is seeking dedicated Packer/Handler team members in Saint Helens, OR to operate on 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced production environment. The role focuses on quality inspection, assembly, labeling, and basic material handling, with strong emphasis on safety and adherence to Amcor’s values.

Starting pay is $18.00/hour, increasing to $19.00/hour after 90 days based on performance, with benefits including medical, dental, and vision plans, PTO, 401(k), and holiday pay.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to keep up with fast-paced production cycles.
  • Position requires agility and consistent attention to detail.
  • Able to tolerate constant repetition.
  • Must be able to frequently lift, bend, and reach to perform necessary job functions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds safely.
  • Must be able to identify alpha/numeric product codes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.
  • Inspect product to ensure quality.

  • Work closely with Team Leader and alert Mold Tech and Supervisor of any quality issues or reject conditions.
  • Watch molds for irregularities or sticking.
  • Timely response to quality issues is key to this position.
  • Complete assembly of product by installing gaskets in lids and handles in containers as required while keeping up with the production machines cycles.
  • Prepare proper product identification and/or packaging labels.
  • Assist with material handling and other tasks as needed.
  • Accurately complete any required paperwork.

The primary duties and responsibilities of the OP1 consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area
  • Inspect product to ensure quality.
  • Set aside product that is below quality standards.
  • Work closely with Team Leader and alert Mold Tech and Supervisor of any quality issues or reject conditions.
  • Watch molds for irregularities or sticking.
  • Timely response to quality issues is key to this position.
  • Complete assembly of product by installing gaskets in lids and handles in containers as required while keeping up with the production machines cycles.
  • Flame containers and lids when required.
  • Stack and pack product per instructions that vary with different customers and orders
  • Prepare proper product identification and/or packaging labels
  • Assist with material handling and other tasks as needed
  • When the machine experiences an interruption in production, the Packer Handler will take this available time to clean up oil, sweep, mop, make boxes or other tasks that may be assigned by the Team Leader or Supervisor.
  • Accurately complete any required paperwork
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned
Education, Skills & Physical Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous production experience a plus but not required
  • Must be able to keep up with the fast-paced production cycles.
  • Position requires agility and consistent attention to detail
  • Able to tolerate constant repetition.
  • Some workstations may require sitting or standing for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to frequently lift, bend, and reach to perform necessary job functions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds safely
  • Must be able to identify alpha / numeric product codes
Schedule
  • 12-hour shifts
  • 2 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off
  • Paid lunch breaks

Pay Progression Starting pay of $18.00 per hour Increase to $19.00 per hour after 90 days with a successful performance evaluation
