Job summary

Amcor is hiring a forklift operator in Monroe, LA to handle warehouse duties including order picking, staging, and loading. You will follow all safety policies and operate a forklift with proper licensing.

Responsibilities include inspecting the forklift before use, maintaining clean work areas, and assisting with cycle counts. The role requires physical stamina, ability to work overtime when needed, and strong attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory and safe operations.

Qualifications

  • Operate the forklift safely at all times.

  • Pick orders and stage them for loading; load completed orders.
  • Move finished goods from production holding area to the warehouse and manage space.
  • Perform cycle counts and maintain proper housekeeping.

Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Follow all Company policies.

  • Adhere to Attendance guidelines.

  • Must be able to work overtime when required.

  • Responsible for operating the forklift in a safe manner at all times.

  • Performs Lift Truck Inspection check before using forklift each shift.

  • Follow all safety guidelines/policies, proper use of equipment, etc.

  • Pick orders – (pulling finished product from warehouse to fill orders).

  • Stage orders to be loaded.

  • Loading completed orders.

  • Understanding of shipping/loading requirements, weight requirements, customers’ special instructions.

  • Warehousing (moving product to maximize usage of warehouse space)

  • Perform cycle counts – to verify item quantities on hand.

  • Moving finished goods from production holding area to the warehouse.

  • Repackaging damaged materials as needed.

  • Efficient use of time to maximize pounds/work hours.

  • Learn how to use the many functions of dc-LINK Data Collection .

  • Maintains proper housekeeping while performing duties.

  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to read and write to complete required forms and verify quality products are produced.

  • Must have good vision, eye-hand coordination, and hearing.

  • Ability to adhere to Amcor’s Safety, Health, and Environmental Vision, Policy, and Standards.

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.

  • Ability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, days, or nights for 12 or more hours.

  • Ability to stand, sit, kneel, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and crawl for extended periods multiple times per day.

  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds unassisted.

  • Must have manual dexterity involving total wrist action, twisting, pulling, and raising arms at or above shoulder height.

  • Ability to work in warm, humid, and cool climates for 12 or more hours per day or night.

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) which includes safety glasses, safety goggles, hearing protection, steel toe shoes/boots, face shield, gloves, and face mask.

  • Ability to operate a forklift and maintain a forklift operator license; ability to mount and dismount forklift unassisted multiple times per shift.
