Job Summary

This position focuses on managing members with specialty (ONCOLOGY) diagnoses. It involves performing all functions of case management (CM) and serving as a primary contact for members, healthcare personnel, and other entities involved in managing specialty care. The primary nurse case administrator provides care coordination, identifies treatment programs, consults with physicians and providers, evaluates options and services, promotes quality and cost-effective outcomes, and acts as a liaison to physicians and members. The role also includes educating members about their conditions, using website tools, and facilitating care coordination.

Job Requirements:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a current, valid, unrestricted license in the state of operation
• At least 4 years of clinical practice, including 3 years of recent oncology clinical experience
• Knowledge of oncology drugs, therapies, treatment protocols, side effects, and complications
• Current certification in OCN, ONS, ONCC, AOCN, CPON, or AOCNP
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and database management
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of utilization management, case management, disease management activities, and standardized criteria
• Familiarity with ancillary services such as home health, skilled nursing facilities, and hospice
• Analytical skills, clinical judgment, and effective problem-solving abilities
• For licenses in multiple states, additional licenses may be required and will be supported by HCSC
• Knowledge of treatment protocols, side effects, and dietary considerations
• Ability to establish SMART goals and promote healthy coping strategies
• Maintaining certification for current specialists

Preferred Job Requirements:

• RN Compact License
• Oncology Certification
• CCM Certification (preferred)
• Experience managing complex health cases
• Inpatient and outpatient experience
• One year of care management experience in a health insurance or managed care setting
• Knowledge of medical management policies and procedures
• Experience in specialty education for at least one year

This position is remote: candidates must reside within 250 miles of the office or within the state.
