Job Summary

This position's primary focus is the management of members with specialty (ONCOLOGY) diagnoses. Responsibilities include performing all functions of case management (CM) and serving as a primary contact for members, healthcare personnel, and other entities involved in managing specialty care. The primary nurse case administrator performs care coordination, identifies treatment options, consults with physicians and members, promotes quality and cost-effective outcomes, and acts as a liaison to physicians and members. The role also involves providing education, introducing members to website tools, educating about their conditions, and coordinating care for identified members.

Job Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) with current, valid, unrestricted license in the state of operations
• 4 years of clinical practice experience, including 3 years in recent Specialty (ONCOLOGY) clinical care
• Knowledge of specialty diagnosis drugs, therapies, and treatment protocols
• Current certification in OCN, ONS, ONCC, AOCN, CPON, or AOCNP
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and database management
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of UM/CM/DM activities and standardized criteria
• Familiarity with ancillary services such as HHC, SNF, Hospice
• Sound clinical judgment and analytical skills
• Multi-state nursing licenses if required, with fees covered by HCSC
• Knowledge of drugs, treatment protocols, and diets related to member care
• Experience in problem solving, healthy coping, and establishing SMART goals
• Maintaining current certification for Certified Specialists

Preferred Job Requirements

• RN Compact License
• Oncology Certification
• CCM certification (preferred)
• Experience managing complex health cases
• Inpatient and outpatient experience
• 1-year experience in Care Management within health insurance/managed care
• Knowledge of medical management policies and procedures
• 1-year experience in Specialty area education

This position is a remote role: must reside within 250 miles of an office or anywhere within the posted state.

Base Pay Range: $69,200.00 - $146,700.00
