Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support primary pupils across Bath and nearby areas. You will work with class teachers to deliver lessons, lead activities, and provide targeted support to help pupils progress in an inclusive classroom.

The role offers flexible supply work with short or long-term placements, access to professional development, and ongoing consultant support.

Qualifications

• HLTA experience or equivalent in education.
• Experience in mainstream primary settings is essential.

About the Role

Connex Education Partnership is looking for experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to work across mainstream primary schools in Bath and the surrounding areas, including schools within the Bath & Wells Multi Academy Trust. This is a great opportunity for qualified or experienced HLTAs looking for flexible supply work, short or long-term placements.

As a HLTA, you will work closely with class teachers and school staff to support learning, lead activities and deliver lessons when required. You will play an important role in helping pupils make progress while creating a positive, engaging and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead learning activities with individuals and small groups.
• Deliver planned lessons when required.
• Support teachers with classroom learning and activities.
• Provide targeted support to pupils who need additional help.
• Adapt activities to meet individual learning needs.
• Support positive behaviour and classroom routines.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates with:

• Previous HLTA experience or experience working at HLTA level.
• Experience working within a mainstream primary school.
• Experience delivering lessons or leading small-group activities.
• Good knowledge of the primary curriculum.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A Level 4 HLTA qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.
• A caring, patient and adaptable approach.
• An enhanced DBS check or willingness to complete one.
• The right to work in the UK.
