Job summary

OptumCare seeks a Primary Care Physician in California for an outpatient, Monday–Friday schedule (8am–5pm) with no on-call duties and no weekend work. Join an integrated care model that supports value-based, patient-centered care for adults and seniors.

Qualifications

• M.D. or D.O. required with completed residency in Family or Internal Medicine.
• Board certification or eligibility for residents in Family/Internal Medicine.
• Active, unrestricted CA medical license or ability to obtain before start.
• CA DEA license or eligibility to obtain before start.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain before start.
• EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient primary care in a Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm setting with no call and no weekends.
• Manage patient care, conduct consultations, follow-ups, wellness visits, and screenings.
• Treat adults and seniors with an emphasis on value-based, patient-centered care.
• Collaborate with integrated care teams to improve health outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic (D.O.)
• Completion of an accredited residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
• Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, or Board Eligible for medical residents
• Active and unrestricted California Medical License or ability to obtain prior to start
• Current California DEA certificate or ability to obtain prior to start
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain prior to start
• EMR Proficient

Position Highlights & Primary Responsibilities:

• Monday – Friday / 8am – 5pm (no call, no weekends)
• Manage patient care in an outpatient setting
• Conduct consultations, follow-up appointments, well-checks, and schedule screenings
• Comfortable seeing patients of all ages, primarily adults/seniors
• Average Daily Patient Census: 18-20 patients
• Appointment schedule: 40 min new patient, 20 min follow-up patient visits
• Dedicated support staff of nurses and medical assistants

The actual range and pay mix of base and bonus is variable based upon experience and metric achievement.
