Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide primary care in physician office settings with weekend/on-call rotation as required. You will manage patient history, examinations, orders, and documentation while coordinating care with the physician team to improve outcomes.

Required credentials include MSN, NP license, prescriptive authority, and applicable certifications.

Qualifications

MSN in a practicing state approved program.
National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioners.
Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in practicing state.
Prescriptive authority in practicing state.
DEA licensure within required timeframe.
ACLS and CPR certification.
Background clearances as required.

Responsibilities

Provide patient care including history, physical examination, treatment planning, orders, and accurate documentation.
Coordinate patient care with patient, family, and interdisciplinary team; involve attending physician as needed.
Monitor patient care and arrange periodic physician evaluations.
Prepare written prescription orders per scope of practice.
Educate patients and families on health, prevention, and treatment; serve as clinical resource.
Triages telephone calls and coordinates ongoing care; support quality initiatives.
Participate in performance/quality improvement initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance.
May perform other duties within specialty as needed.
