Job summary

Oregon State University is seeking a Designated Interpreter for Disability Access Services (DAS). The role entails acting as the primary ASL/English interpreter for the Communication Access Manager and coordinating coverage across meetings, trainings, and university events.

This is a full-time, 12-month, professional faculty position with in-person duties on campus. The position requires extensive ASL/English interpretation experience, relevant licensure, and RID/BEI certification.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of professional ASL/English interpreting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in interpreting or related field; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current Oregon General or Supervisory Sign Language Interpreter License.
• RID or BEI Advanced certification, with ability to obtain any required by Oregon law.
• Advanced proficiency in ASL and English with ability to interpret complex subject matter.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary ASL/English designated interpreter for the DAS Communication Access Manager.
• Coordinate interpreter coverage and team assignments based on access needs.
• Collaborate with campus offices to promote accessible practices for ASL users.
