Job summary

Block is hiring a Data Scientist to own pricing models and experimentation for Square’s global pricing strategy. You will build elasticity models, design experiments, and deploy analytics infrastructure to measure pricing impact across geographies and payment methods.

The role requires expertise in causal inference, pricing analytics, and AI system evaluation, with strong SQL and data visualization skills. Collaboration with Finance, Risk, Product, and GTM is key.

Qualifications

• Experience in pricing analytics and AI/ML projects.
• Strong grasp of causal inference and experimentation methods.
• Proficient SQL and data visualization skills for stakeholder communication.
• Experience evaluating AI system behavior and model risk.

Responsibilities

• Model price elasticity and willingness-to-pay across segments and geographies.
• Design, run, and interpret pricing experiments (A/B, DiD, bandit tests).
• Decompose merchant economics across interchange, scheme, and risk-cost layers.
• Build pricing intelligence tooling and ensure scalable, accurate quotes.
• Monitor AI pricing systems for accuracy, bias, and drift in production.
• Own end-to-end data pipeline, analytics, and dashboard storytelling.
