Job summary

Block is seeking a Data Scientist to own modeling and experimentation at the core of global pricing.You’ll build elasticity and willingness-to-pay models, design pricing experiments, and stand up analytics infrastructure shaping pricing strategy and automation.

You will design experiments, decompose economics, and build dashboards to monitor AI-driven pricing, ensuring quotes stay within guardrails at scale. Collaboration across Finance, Risk, Product, and GTM is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or master in a STEM field with relevant experience in data science.
• Experience in causal inference and experimentation for pricing.
• Hands-on modeling of price elasticity or willingness-to-pay.

Responsibilities

• Model price elasticity and willingness-to-pay across segments, geographies, and payment methods.
• Design and run pricing experiments (A/B, DiD, bandit-based tests) and translate results into strategy.
• Decompose merchant economics across interchange, scheme, and risk-cost layers to identify flex points.
• Build pricing intelligence powering DealBot – rate recommendations, ROI and pre-approval logic, guardrails.
