About Us

Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization, helps customers use energy more productively, reduce carbon emissions, and operate with the precision and resilience required in rapidly expanding industries such as data centers, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, advanced manufacturing, and higher education. For more than 140 years, Johnson Controls has delivered performance where it really matters. Backed by advanced technology, lifecycle services and an industry-leading field organization, we elevate customer performance, turn goals into real-world results and help move society forward.

What You Will Do

Johnson Controls is a global organization focused on smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings. In this role, you will help shape pricing decisions that support customer value, margin expansion, and competitive performance across the business. The Pricing Analyst is responsible for developing pricing analyses, researching different dimensions of ratemaking, and comparing cost factors to support effective pricing decisions. You will work independently while partnering closely with a collaborative team, including members of the pricing deal desk, Sales, Operations, and General Managers / P&L owners. Success in this role means turning data into timely, practical recommendations that help drive share growth, optimize pricing, and strengthen margin performance.

How You Will Do It
  • Develop pricing analyses that evaluate current and future pricing models, cost factors, and margin impacts.
  • Research dimensions of ratemaking and support pricing insights that inform enterprise pricing strategy.
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales and Operations teams to understand customer decision-making criteria, product value, market conditions, and competitive dynamics.
  • Review opportunities through the pricing deal desk as needed and provide recommended price guidance based on deal criteria, team input, and available data sources.
  • Analyze pricing trends, discount activity, and competitor pricing to identify risks, opportunities, and actions that support margin expansion.
  • Apply statistical modeling methods to assess the potential impact of pricing strategies on current and future state pricing.
  • Support the development of dynamic pricing tools and improve pricing analytics, reporting, and decision support capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Sales to implement competitive pricing strategies and challenge pricing actions that do not align with enterprise pricing direction.
  • Track pricing insights and perspectives, including the analysis of margin targets and pricing strategy recommendations.
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and actionable way to drive adoption of pricing analytics and tools.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure pricing decisions reflect customer needs, market realities, and business priorities.
  • Use critical thinking and sound judgment to challenge assumptions, test scenarios, and translate large datasets into clear insights.
  • Work with accountability and integrity by delivering accurate analyses, meeting commitments, and supporting decisions that can be executed with confidence.
  • Stay close to the work and the customer so your recommendations are practical, timely, and responsive to changing market conditions.
  • Improve processes continuously by refining pricing models, reporting methods, and tools based on feedback, results, and emerging needs.
  • Win as one team by building trust, sharing perspective openly, and aligning recommendations across functions and levels of the organization.
What We Look For
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or other quantitative related fields
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience working in a pricing related role
  • Experience conducting quantitative analysis and developing analytical models, dashboards, data visualizations, and decision-making tools
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. ability to utilize pivot tables, lookups, aggregate functions)
  • Demonstrated track record of working cross-functionally with multiple teams
  • Ability to synthesize data, research, and analyses into simple, concise, accessible, and actionable insights.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Working knowledge of CRM (SFDC preferred), CPQ (e.g. Selection Navigator, Oracle, Salesforce), and ERP systems
