Job summary

Akur8 is seeking a Pricing Actuary to join our US team, partnering with Sales, Product and R&D to translate insurance pricing needs into software-led solutions. This role demands deep P&C pricing experience and the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

You’ll contribute to client engagements, lead proof-of-concepts, and help shape Akur8’s product roadmap while traveling up to one week per month to North America and beyond.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a P&C pricing role as Pricing Actuary or equivalent.
• Broad insurance knowledge including ISO products/ISO ERC.
• Experience recommending and filing rates with rate indications and variable factors.
• Experience with the rate filing lifecycle and addressing regulatory objections.
• Hands-on actuarial ratemaking and rate deployment in pricing.
• Ability to translate insurance imperatives into software-driven solutions.
• Familiarity with Python or R is a plus (coding not required).
• Willingness to travel ~1 week per month, including North America.
• English fluency at a native or near-native level.

Responsibilities

• Interact with Sales, Product, R&D, Marketing, Engineering, and Leadership to translate pricing concepts.
• Lead proof of concepts with potential clients and communicate complex actuarial ideas clearly.
• Identify creative, library-based approaches to answer ad hoc actuarial questions.
• Assist clients by diagnosing misalignments between models and assumptions.
• Contribute to white papers and presentations to establish Akur8 leadership.
• Travel to client sites and offices ~1 week per month.
