Job summary

SSC Services for Education, part of Compass Group, is hiring a Preventive Maintenance Technician in College Station to perform skilled maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems across campus facilities. The role includes leading a project team, diagnosing issues, and ensuring compliance with licenses and safety requirements.

Positions available as full-time and part-time; strong emphasis on planning, scheduling, and collaborating with other maintenance staff.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting.
• Specialization in one trade evidenced by possession of a Journeyman license.
• Must hold one of the listed licenses (Electrical, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Carpentry, Welding, etc.).
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to read blueprints, specifications and models to learn work layout.

Responsibilities

• Constructs, installs, maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical systems.
• Demonstrates advanced diagnostic skills and repairs across equipment types.
• Maintains HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems and related equipment.
• Leads a group of workers on a project and mentors staff.
• Reads blueprints and plans work layout; updates statuses and costs.
