Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Prevention/Intervention Assistant to support youth and families, promote academic success, and increase graduation rates. You will implement a prevention‑intervention model and work with the Community Support Team and families to address truancy with a supportive, inclusive approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college experience desirable.
• Two years of experience with students or parents in school or community settings.
• Knowledge of parenting basics, at-risk youth behavior, truancy and instructional practices.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for student attendance and coordinate a Community Support Team.
• Collaborate with staff to identify at-risk students and MTSS actions.
• Conduct home visits with the Community Intervention Team.
• Provide follow-up case management and family/school feedback.
• Support youth prevention/empowerment clubs and MTSS meetings.
