Job summary

Washoe County School District seeks a Prevention/Intervention Assistant for Stead Elementary School to implement prevention-intervention programs, support families, and promote student attendance and success. The role involves MTSS coordination, home visits, and collaboration with counselors and truancy officials.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus experience with at-risk youth and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college desirable.
• 30 sem. or 45 qtr. units in psychology, sociology, social work or related field preferred.
• Two years of experience with students or parents in school or community settings.

Responsibilities

• Promote acceptable school attendance and support families to reduce truancy.
• convene Community Support Team meetings and review caseload progress.
• Identify students at risk and coordinate MTSS interventions with staff.
• Provide case management, follow-up, and feedback to schools and families.
• Collaborate with counselors to develop youth prevention/empowerment activities.
