Yancey Bros. Co. seeks a Preventative Maintenance Field Service Technician to perform preventive maintenance on Caterpillar machinery at customer sites in Georgia. The role requires driving to jobs, inspecting equipment, and completing service tasks efficiently.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of heavy equipment experience, a mechanical background, and a valid driver’s license (CDL Class B preferred). Flexibility for some nights or weekends is expected, with a focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience with heavy equipment, automotive, or on-highway trucks.
• Mechanical background with knowledge of tools.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Valid, active driver’s license; Class B CDL preferred.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Ability to pass driver screenings and DOT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Drive to customer’s job site daily to complete preventive maintenance.
• Operate heavy equipment to identify deficiencies or performance issues.
• Perform all necessary preventive maintenance per interval service guidelines.
• Complete all work orders, time sheets and inspections.
• Operate service truck safely and comply with regulations.
• Must be able to obtain a CDL license if required.
• Participate in required safety program and work safely.
• Additional duties as assigned by manager.

What You Will Be Doing:

As a Preventative Maintenance Field Service Technician, you will be performing preventive maintenance on various types of customer/rental machines as per machine guidelines in a safe and timely manner on customer job sites.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Drive to customer’s job site daily to complete preventive maintenance.
• Operate heavy equipment to determine deficiency’s or performance issues daily.
• Perform all necessary preventive maintenance work for each specific interval service.
• Complete all work orders, time sheets & inspections from completed services.
• Operate service truck safely and comply with all regulations.
• Must be able to obtain a CDL license if required

Additional Responsibilities:

• Participate in required safety program and work in a safe manner.
• Additional duties as assigned by manager.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• Must have a mechanical background with 2 to 3 years of experience with heavy equipment, automotive, or on highway trucks.
• Basic computer skills
• Can work independently with little to no supervision
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, to include some nights and occasional weekends
• Candidates missing one requirement will still be considered
• Must be 21-years-old or older.
• Valid, active driver's license. Class B CDL license preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to clear driver screenings and provide necessary information for a complete DQ file, including but not limited to:
  • Road Test administered by Yancey personnel.
  • Background check and MVR with less than 10 points.
  • DOT Physical
  • Drug Screen
• Must not be disqualified to drive a CMV under 49 CFR § 391.15.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

• Course work from accredited trade school, college or university with emphasis in mechanics, hydraulics, and automotive electronics is desirable.
