Job summary

NYC Criminal Justice Agency (CJA) seeks a Pretrial Associate for the Queens day shift to support the court process and bail decisions. You will interview arrestees, verify information, and help determine release recommendations for non-detained individuals.

This in-person role operates 7AM–3PM in Central Booking, with weekend/holiday shifts possible. Previous experience in customer service and strong communication are preferred, with a commitment to fairness and due process.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and 1+ year of relevant work experience.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally.
• Multilingual skills encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Interview recently arrested individuals in Central Booking to assess community ties for release recommendations.
• Conduct telephone verifications of addresses, employment, and sureties for bail release decisions.
• Record interview responses in the agency database and monitor arraignment outcomes.
