Job summary

Lakeside Book Company in Harrisonburg, VA is seeking a seasoned manufacturing leader to guide daily production operations at our North Plant. You will lead teams, set expectations, coach staff, and resolve issues to keep lines running smoothly.

You bring 5+ years of leadership in manufacturing, expertise in Continuous Improvement, strong communication, and a hands-on, collaborative style to drive safety, quality, and efficiency across departments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, production, or similar fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Continuous Improvement practices and identifying opportunities to improve processes.
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills in a production setting.
• Flexible, proactive, hands-on leadership style with cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily leadership and direction to manufacturing teams, including crewing assignments, performance expectations, coaching, and issue resolution.
• Champion a strong safety and quality culture through behavior-based observations, routine process checks, and proactive corrective actions.
• Monitor production throughout the shift and work directly with operators to troubleshoot issues, remove barriers, and maximize productivity and efficiency.
• Partner with department leadership and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational excellence.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives focused on improving safety, quality, efficiency, and overall performance.

Work Hours: Day Shift - 40-hour work week (Flexibility to work overtime as needed is required.)

Location: We have 2 locations in Harrisonburg: North Plant at 2347 Kratzer Rd; South Plant at 1025 Willow Springs Rd. This position is located at the North Plant.

Salary: $72,000 - $85,000, based upon experience

What You'll Do:
