Job summary

Lakeside Book Company is seeking a production leadership professional to drive daily operations at our Harrisonburg North Plant. You will guide manufacturing teams, assign crews, set performance expectations, and coach staff to meet safety and quality standards.

In this role you will partner with department leadership to identify process improvements, champion continuous improvement initiatives, and remove barriers to maximize productivity and efficiency across shifts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing or similar fast-paced environments.
• Experience with Continuous Improvement practices to raise performance.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Hands-on, proactive leadership across cross-functional teams.

Work Hours: Day Shift - 40-hour work week (Flexibility to work overtime as needed is required.)

Location: We have 2 locations in Harrisonburg: North Plant at 2347 Kratzer Rd; South Plant at 1025 Willow Springs Rd. This position is located at the North Plant.

Salary: $72,000 - $85,000, based upon experience

What You’ll Do:

• Provide daily leadership and direction to manufacturing teams, including crewing assignments, performance expectations, coaching, and issue resolution.
• Champion a strong safety and quality culture through behavior-based observations, routine process checks, and proactive corrective actions.
• Monitor production throughout the shift and work directly with operators to troubleshoot issues, remove barriers, and maximize productivity and efficiency.
• Partner with department leadership and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational excellence.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives focused on improving safety, quality, efficiency, and overall performance.

What You Bring:

• 5+ years of demonstrated leadership experience, preferably within a manufacturing, production, or similar fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Continuous Improvement practices and identifying opportunities to improve processes and performance.
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to set expectations and hold teams accountable.
• Proven analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to make effective decisions in a production environment.
• A flexible, proactive, hands-on leadership style with the ability to build relationships and work effectively across teams in a fast-paced environment.
