The position is full‑time and on‑site, reporting to Operations Manager in the Press/Tool Room department, with responsibilities spanning

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in press operations, metal stamping, tool room operations, or related manufacturing.
• At least 1 year of lead or supervisory experience with training, coordination, or documentation.
• Technical or vocational coursework in manufacturing preferred.
• Strong knowledge of press setup, operation, tooling, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate power presses and foot presses to support production requirements.
• Retrieve and inspect raw materials to ensure they meet job specifications.
• Produce First Articles and coordinate approvals with Quality Assurance; complete production travelers and documentation.
• Monitor material usage and inventory; ensure proper handling and scrap disposal.
• Provide hands‑on technical support to production areas as needed.
• Oversee tool maintenance, organization, and storage; document tool status.
• Lead department employees, schedule, train, and review performance; manage time‑off requests.

Job Details

PacAero Norton is seeking an experienced, hands‑on Press/Tool Room Manager to oversee daily press and tool room operations while providing leadership and support to the production team. This position combines technical expertise in press operations and metal stamping with responsibility for employee supervision, production quality, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with equipment and tooling while managing department priorities, supporting employee development, and ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with company quality standards.

Schedule: Full-time, onsite, Monday–Friday

Key Responsibilities

Press Operations & Production Support

• Set up and operate power presses and foot presses to support production requirements.
• Retrieve and inspect raw materials to ensure they meet job specifications.
• Produce First Articles for press department orders, coordinate approvals with Quality Assurance, and accurately complete production travelers and related documentation.
• Monitor material usage, track available inventory, and ensure proper handling and disposal of scrap.
• Provide hands‑on technical and operational support to production areas as needed.

Tool Room Management & Maintenance

• Ensure tools are properly maintained, organized, and returned to designated storage locations.
• Document tool conditions and status using Tool Tags to support future production runs.
• Diagnose tooling issues and perform minor repairs to maintain production efficiency.
• Support the proper use, handling, and care of press equipment and tooling.

Team Leadership & Supervision

• Oversee department employees, providing daily direction, training, and performance feedback.
• Coordinate employee schedules, review and approve timecards, and manage time‑off requests.
• Participate in interviewing and evaluating potential new employees.
• Conduct employee performance reviews and maintain appropriate documentation.
• Address performance and disciplinary matters in coordination with Human Resources and company leadership.
• Promote a productive, accountable, and team‑oriented work environment.

Quality Management & Compliance

• Ensure department operations and documentation comply with Sinclair's Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
• Support consistent quality standards through accurate production documentation and First Article approval processes.
• Serve as a certified internal auditor, supporting internal quality audits and compliance activities.
• Coordinate management review activities in accordance with QMS requirements.
• Identify and address production or quality concerns to support ongoing operational improvement.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in press operations, metal stamping, tool room operations, or a closely related manufacturing environment.
• At least 1 year of lead or supervisory experience involving employee training, work coordination, performance feedback, or employee documentation.
• Technical or vocational coursework in manufacturing, industrial technology, or a related field preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of press setup, operation, tooling, and basic troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret production instructions, procedures, measurements, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Proficiency with manufacturing‑related calculations, including fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, material usage, scrap, yield, and production quantities.
• Ability to maintain accurate production, quality, and employee documentation.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify issues, evaluate information, and implement practical solutions.
• Effective communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to balance hands‑on production responsibilities with employee supervision and department management.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Manufacturing‑based position requiring regular interaction with production equipment, tooling, materials, and employees.
• Regularly required to sit, talk, and listen.
• Frequent walking throughout the facility and carrying of products or materials.
• Ability to ascend and descend stairs while carrying a load of up to 25 pounds.
• Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle, grip, squeeze, and manipulate tools and products.
• Ability to push, pull, and reach above shoulder level.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
