Job description

The Press Operator must be a motivated team player with experience operating printing presses with roll feeders.

This position will review production schedules and collaborate with the Scheduler to maximize machine productivity. Ideal candidates will be able to troubleshoot and understand quality control instruments and fixtures.

Must be able to understand instructions, work with minimal supervision, and maintain a clean work area.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Coordinate with the production scheduler and supervisors on job requirements.
  2. Improve the effectiveness of the quality management system.
  3. Follow production work instructions for all tasks.
  4. Adhere to safety standards, environmental regulations, and OSHA guidelines.
  5. Operate machines safely, efficiently, and continuously according to company standards.
  6. Ensure quality products are produced in the correct quantity within guidelines.
  7. Perform minor maintenance on production equipment as scheduled and needed.
  8. Work safely and ethically at all times, understanding lockout/tagout procedures.
  9. Understand emergency stops, electrical disconnects, interlocks, and air supply controls.
  10. Set up machines before each run and perform line clearance afterward.
  11. Verify machines operate at optimal efficiency.
  12. Monitor and verify product quality throughout production.
  13. Collaborate with team members on the line.
  14. Participate in process improvements to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  15. Maintain area cleanliness.
  16. Report deviations and manage input/output of products.
  17. Complete production reporting and data collection promptly using scanners and computer systems.
  18. Perform any other duties assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • At least 3 years of press operating experience.
  • Basic math and reading skills.
  • Solid knowledge of production, press operation, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of printing presses.
  • Ability to interpret narratives, graphics, drawings, blueprints, and technical materials.
  • Operate machinery efficiently and safely.
  • Establish effective working relationships with supervisors and peers.
  • Assess situations and adjust to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to operate a forklift (training provided if needed).
  • Positive attitude and proactive approach.

Pay starts at $20.00/hour; experience will be compensated.

Schedule: 2nd shift, Monday-Thursday, 2:30 pm to 12:30 am, with a 40-minute paid break.

Overtime is voluntary.
