Job description

  • Department: Materials Management
  • Schedule: Part-time primarily evenings; start times at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Secondary shifts start at 5:00 am, including weekends and holidays.
  • Hospital: Ascension Genesys
  • Location: Grand Blanc, Michigan

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Receives goods as ordered and delivered, and processes packing slips into departmental computer systems.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Verify receipt of items against packing slips and check-in items against purchase orders.
  • Enter received inventory into the database for tracking.
  • Process returned items for shipping and schedule pickups.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues related to received goods.
  • Monitor, order, stock, and transport supplies and equipment; ensure timely delivery. Process transfers of inventory and non-inventory supplies between service points.
  • Perform PYSIX inventories, stocking, and reordering using par level reports; support departments including Biomed, Respiratory, Purchasing, and Administration.
  • Assist in unloading and sorting incoming supplies; verify quantities and check for damages before signing for goods; document exceptions.
  • Notify the Ministry Service Center of discrepancies or damages; file damage claims as per procedures.
  • Receive and process packages via FedEx, UPS, and express services, prioritizing rush items.
  • Match deliveries to purchase orders, verify items, and generate receiving reports.
  • Deliver freight to appropriate locations, complete delivery confirmations, and assist with put-away during high census periods.
  • Deliver special purchase items, obtaining signatures upon release.
  • Prioritize deliveries and tasks based on judgment.
  • Manage return of goods and outgoing freight following established procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in Receiving and Dock areas.
  • Ensure dock security by securing valuable items and reporting unauthorized personnel.
  • Organize pallets for return to vendors and arrange for pickups.
  • Perform various Supply Chain responsibilities, which may evolve over time.
  • Engage with customers regularly to ensure good service, interacting professionally with clinicians, administrators, colleagues, and vendors.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Driver's license required before hire or transfer.

Education:

  • Prefer at least one year of experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, warehousing, or inventory management.
