Job Summary:
This position works in our Metal Shop and is responsible for setting up and operating press brakes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Study blueprints or written directions .
- Set up and load programs for press brake and assign proper tooling for specific jobs.
- Operate press brake to form various parts and assemblies to print.
- Maintain the work area and equipment and following prescribed safety policies.
- Wear protective attire, such as safety eye glasses, steel-toed shoes and gloves.
- Inspect equipment, parts or materials.
- Clean, inspect and provide maintenance for press brakes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years minimum experience setting up and operating press brakes.
- Experience in or knowledge of blueprint reading .
- Must be able to use a computer.
- Knowledge of bend allowances of different types and thicknesses of materials.
- Ability to lift/carry 30 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of flat layout of sheet metal parts.
- Experience programming press brakes.
- Related technical Associates degree.

- Required to sit and stand for extended amounts of time and must be able to bend, stretch, twist, squat, and reach across all planes.
- Ability to operate a pallet jack, forklift, or other large machinery, as necessary.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- May be required to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 60 pounds, 0 - 33% of time.
- May be exposed to high noise levels for short amounts of time when working near manufacturing equipment. Noise levels range between 70-100 decibels. Protective footwear, ear plugs, and safety rated glasses are required.
